I am a CCIE aspirant, read your story on xing found very encouraging. As you know the CCIE syllabus has now been changed so it will need some extra efforts.

What I would like to ask you is the notes that you prepared in wiki, can they be available to read and refer? If you could do something about it then it would be great!

For those trying to install FreeBSD 8.x: tty names has changed:
ttyd0 doesn’t exist any more, now it’s called ttyu0.
See handbook chapter 26.3.

hi there,
“the ip inspect timeout” is quite fine defined on the cisco website: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/12_2/security/command/reference/srfcbac.html#wp1018085.

e.g. “…specify the TCP idle timeout (the length of time a TCP session will still be managed while there is no activity)…”.

it’s really a timeout where not RST/FIN has been sent and therefore is removed from the table.

so the inspection rules create dynamic ACLs to allow the returning traffic to pass, why we use the command ip inspect protocol timeout??

This command did not work for me show ip access-lists interface loop22. It is not taking the interface part. 12.4(13a) is my version.
